Help with navigation, well search, accounts, field information, and using MonDak in the field.

Getting started

Set up. Find the well. Roll.

MonDak Wellsite Navigator is built for oilfield destinations in North Dakota and Montana. You can search for a well, review available route information, and start in-app navigation toward that destination.

An account is optional for many map and search tasks. Sign in when you want account-backed features such as route-learning contributions. Navigation itself is designed to keep working if sign-in is not used.

  1. 01

    Open the app

Install MonDak Wellsite Navigator from the store listing when it is available, then open it on the device you will use in the field.

  2. 02

    Allow location access

When prompted, allow location while using the app. MonDak uses your position to place you on the map, search nearby wells, load weather for your area, and run turn-by-turn guidance.

  3. 03

Sign in if you need an account

Create or sign into a MonDak driver account with email and password where you want account features. You can still search wells and navigate without signing in.

  4. 04

    Find a well, then navigate

Search for the destination, open the well, review the route preview, and start navigation when you are ready to move.

Finding a well

Search the destination—not just a town.

Use well search with the information you have. MonDak can look up destinations using supported details such as:

  • NAME

    Well name

Search the name you were given for the location.

  • API

    API number

Use the well API number when you have it.

  • OP

    Operator

Search by operator when that is the identifier you have.

If several results look similar, check county, state, and proximity before you start the run. The well coordinate is the destination— not the nearest mapped public road.

Field reports

Share what you are seeing.

Field reports let drivers share relevant conditions—road issues, access problems, hazards, closures, and other local observations— with a location on the map. Submit a report from the field-report flow when that screen is available, add a short description, and place the pin on the condition you want others to see.

Reports are observations from people in the field. They are not independently verified professional assessments. Use them as extra context alongside posted signs, permits, employer rules, and what you see on the ground.

Account help

Email, password, and access.

MonDak driver accounts use email and password. Sign in from Profile when you need an account. If sign-in fails, confirm the email matches the address you registered, check capitalization and saved passwords, and retry with a stable connection.

If your account requires email confirmation, complete that step from the message sent at signup before signing in.

In-app password reset is not currently listed as a supported path in MonDak. If you cannot recover access, email support from the address on the account and describe the problem. Do not send your password.

For account and data deletion information, see Account & Data Deletion. Deletion is not currently available as an in-app MonDak control.

Technical troubleshooting

Start with the basics.

  1. 01

    Verify location permission

Allow MonDak to use location while the app is in use. If you previously denied it, restore permission in the device settings, then reopen the app.

  2. 02

Verify internet when you need live services

Routing, map tiles, weather, and other online features need a connection. Confirm cellular or Wi-Fi before retrying a route or search.

  3. 03

Completely close and reopen the app

Leave the navigation or map screen, close MonDak fully from the app switcher, then open it again and retry the same well.

  4. 04

    Install the latest available version

Check the App Store or Google Play for an update. Store listings show the version currently published.

  5. 05

Restart the device if GPS looks stuck

If location or system services appear frozen across apps, restart the phone or tablet, then open MonDak and request location again.

Avoid clearing app storage as a first step. Local information such as favorites, recents, private pins, and settings can be removed if the app data is wiped.
